Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins

It's been almost a month since I've last had fast food (including Subway). It's also been a few weeks since I've last had beef. I have been craving In n' Out as of lately though... I really hope my no beef streak can last a little while longer... It gets tough sometimes when things like pastrami, spaghetti, tacos, etc. all have beef or come from beef.

Work Hard, Play Harder.

It's my first official day of winter break! Too bad I did work today. Of course as usual, SSARC work never ceases. I did some e-mailing and got some reading done. I still have PLENTY of work ahead of me to do over break... most likely I'll end up procrastinating and getting it all done the weekend before winter quarter begins. Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY love my job and am fully dedicated to it... however, sometimes when I'm on a holiday break.. I wish I could just fully enjoy it without doing ANY work whatsoever. But that's not reality.. unfortunately if I want to avoid doing a halfass job, I have to be on top of my shit. That means, checking the SSARC e-mail daily, read up on grad school material, researching grad schools and grad fields, and constantly looking for ways to improve the SSARC. Right now it just sucks cuz I really need a BREAK and time to relax after such a hard quarter. But this break is crunch time for me with studying for the LSAT. It's time to work hard and play harder.

I'm super excited for the next upcoming week though with everything that's going on! My list of things to look forward to:
- Happy hour party at Sharkeez
- Medieval Times
- Thales's 1yr Birthday party
- Sundial hangout
- Sundial Christmas dinner
- Visiting the Getty/Griffiths Observatory

Wee! Excitement!

And to recap on the SSARC Social & Secret Santa Gift Exchange last Friday:

OMG I had SO SO SO SO much fun! It was the best way to celebrate the end of finals week. Kristal slept over on Thursday night, so we got to spend two days hanging out and shopping together. I absolutely love this girl to death. Friday night, we were running late to the gift exchange, and rushed over to SST 318 to find out that Dr. C and Andrew were also running late. So we pretty much rushed over for no reason. But the gift exchange part of the evening was GREAT! It was exciting to see who had who and what we all got each other. Tiffani had me, and she got me a purple scarf, which I LOVELOVELOVE, some Lindor chocolate, which is SO BAD for my diet right now, a penguin notepad, and a Starbucks giftcard! Bestest secret santa! I really love everything she gave me. (: LOVE YOU T.RAZO! Then afterwards we all headed over to Souplantation for dinner. Dinner was GREAT! I love eating in good company. I was even more excited to introduce the newbies like James and Andrew to all that is good of Souplantation. I know for sure James loved it haha. And to wrap up dinner, we had an early celebration of Steve's 22nd birthday with carrot cake. I think that was the highlight of the dinner (: After dinner, was game time at the old SSARC. But in between, Kristal and I, along with Steve, had to make a quick stop at my apartment because I forgot something. Luckily we did this though because we ALMOST forgot to return the Dvd we borrowed the night before. So on the way to school we made a stop at Albertsons to return the Julie&Julia dvd. The line was semi-long so it took us a good 20 minutes or so just to return this stupid dvd. Then when we got back to the old SSARC, we played Wii and Rockband for a good amount of time. I was having so much fun I didn't want the night to end! But since it was getting late, all of us had to get going and we had to call it a night around 10pm. :( I couldn't have asked for a better Friday night. Absolutely ADORE my wonderful co-workers! <3

DUNZO!

Yesterday at 6:30pm, I finished my LAST final, of my LAST fall quarter, of my LAST year in college! So exciting! It feels like such an accomplishment. (: Unfortunately, however last night I also found out I got a B- on my Econ 13 final :( FUUUUCKK. I'm so upset with myself for doing so terrible in a lower division BASIC economics course. It should've been a GPA booster for me, but ironically it's bringing my GPA down now instead. Oh well, what can I do now? All I can do is hope to God that I get a B- in the class.

Last night, Kristal and I spent the night shopping at Downtown Disney, girl talking, and watching Julie & Julia. What a great night to relieve some stress and enjoy my time off. Tonight, we have the BIG SSARC SOCIAL and Secret Santa gift exchange!!! I'm so stoked to give my person their gift! I know they'll LOVE it.

TGIF!

It's Friday and I'm staying in to study :( I REALLY hope I can finish my research paper by tonight so I will never have to touch it again, until I turn it in of course. Saying my prayers that finals this quarter will be good to me.

Anyways, as I was taking a study break I was on textsfromlastnight.com and saw this...

(918): New dating criteria: what kind of ex will this person be?

This is a criterion I should use from now on. haha

End of My LAST Fall Quarter!!

It's pretty surreal to know that I'm finishing up my last fall quarter of my undergraduate college career. I'm being specific here because I'm pretty sure I'll be returning to college shortly for more schooling soon after I graduate this coming Spring. I'm happy that this quarter has come and gone so quickly. Even though it has been VERY stressful, it has been a good 10 weeks. Now I just need to get through the next week of finals and start prepping for my future this winter break.

There are SO SO SO many things I would like to get done before I graduate... but I definitely don't have enough time. In addition to taking 16-20 units next quarter, I want to start my LSAT prep class, do research with a professor, and pick up another internship. But obviously I physically just won't be able to do all of that at once... I just really need to take the time out to plan and prioritize. We'll see what happens though....

Until then... it's been a great quarter. Glad it's done. Now time to kill it on my finals and move on! Wish me luck everyone (:

Thanksgiving Recap.

Sundial + Red Dragons Thanksgiving at Ty's house!! Here we are making Dexter's Spam Musubi that he was supposed to make himself but didn't.

Well, as usual, I've gained about 5lbs from Thanksgiving break. Nonstop eating for the past 4 days. TERRIBLE. Starting tomorrow I've got to get back on track with a low carb/low cal diet. Need to start getting back into shape, especially with my 22nd birthday just around the corner. Anyways... on a scale of 1-10 I'd say my Thanksgiving would be around a 5. I honestly would rather not remember this Thanksgiving if I could.. it started off great with our annual thanksgiving potluck. But after that, the night ended horribly... I rather not mention the incident again because I would like to forget it. Let's just say though
SO MUCH DRAMA IN THE LBC
Well anyways, that night I didn't get home until about 3 or 3:30am and barely had time to see my mom off since she was going out of town for the break. The next day I had Thanksgiving Lunch/dinner with my family at my cousin's house. The best part was seeing my baby cousin. If I ever have a baby, I would want a baby like him. He's honestly the most well behaved baby you will ever meet. He's not fussy, he barely makes any noise, and when he cries, it doesn't take much to make him stop. We ended the night with a good game of Scrabble. I was in the lead... until I found out I accidently used the tile R as a blank space to make the word DECLINE. It was pretty funny though.. something only I would do that's for sure.

The next day all I did was eat and sleep. Didn't go Black Friday shopping, didn't do anything except go to SHARKS for Dexter's Birthday! It was a fun night minus getting beer spilled on me three different times that night. I literally was soaked in beer that night. It was a good, well needed night and just being with everyone I love and being in good company. I couldn't have asked for more.

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY DEXTER!
I forgive you for purposely spilling your beer on me the second time. (:

Saturday and Sunday were uneventful. Did nothing but eat and sleep some more. So I guess I would say the highlight of my break would be Dexter's birthday and Sundial Thanksgiving. I'm really sad break is over, and I'm completely not looking forward to week 10 and finals week. The next two weeks will most definitely be CRUNCH TIME. Perhaps, I can lose the 5 lbs. from stress and lack of sleep I'll be getting in the next 14 days. Silver lining?

One Day Away from THANKSGIVING Break!

Today, I have come to the conclusion that GUYS SUCK. This may seem like a HUGE generalization, but I have yet to meet a guy that can prove my theories wrong. Are guys incapable of being genuinely kind without a hidden agenda? I mean of course I know PLENTY of great, stand up guys. But even then they still do things with a different intention. Maybe I'm holding them to a higher standard? I don't know. All I know is, that if I can do kind things and think of others without another motive, why can't guys?!

I'm sure this post may make some people upset and really defensive, but come ask me my theories first. I have so much proof, especially after what happened today. It's pretty disappointing when guys treat girls differently after their original intentions behind the way they first treated them didn't turn out the way they wanted. Where is the exception to my theory?! I would love to meet a guy who is GENUINELY kind and selfless to girls more than 50% of the time, because that's simply their nature.

BLAH.

Honorable Mention.

I just thought this bit of my conversation with Alex was worth mentioning/remembering. It may not make sense to a lot of people, but it's pretty hilarious to me.

Three Days Away from TURKEY DAY!

Last week was an intense and hectic week. Since Thursday night, I haven't done ONE OUNCE of work. It's been rejuvenating, relaxing, and just GOOD. However, being the workaholic that I am, I now feel behind on my school work and SSARC work.

On Friday after our staff meeting, Kristal and I went shopping at Irvine Spectrum, and it was just SO FUN. We got in some good exercise, bought lots of cute stuff, and had a well needed girl talk. It was definitely a good pick me up after a rough week. We eventually met up with Tiffani and had dinner at Red Robbin before she went to watch New Moon. By the way, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE NEW MOON. I AM TOTALLY FOR TEAM EDWARD/JACOB! Robert Pattinson is just completely dreamy and Taylor Lautner is plain out SEXY in the movie. I love a ripped man with a sexy muscular back. haha I don't care if Taylor Lautner is underage, I'd definitely be cougar status for that guy.

Speaking of New Moon, I was crazy enough to watch the midnight showing of the movie Thursday night with Jon Losch and Ella after only getting a total of 8 hours of sleep from the previous two days. It was SO fun hanging out with her and catching up after years of not seeing each other. We had dinner at Cheesecake Factory.. I ordered a very delicious Strawberry Daiquiri and we split some orgasimically yummy appetizers and then shared a Godiva Chocolate cheesecake. It was SO SO good, except for the aftermath. PEOPLE NEVER HAVE A STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI AND CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE TOGETHER. IT DOES NOT MIX WELL AT ALL. Although it was all delicious, I have learned my lesson haha.

So back to Friday... we had a potluck at our staff meeting which was really nice. Then after Kristal and I went shopping. That night I was supposed to go to a rugby party but I just got way too exhausted to dress up and deal with a lot of people, so instead I drove home. I caught up on the latest episode of Flash Forward and went to bed. Saturday I took my sister out to lunch at Babette's and then we went to Marina Pacifica to watch New Moon (yes, I watched it TWICE. haha it was THAT GOOD.). After, we went shopping at Cerritos Mall ... sales people are definitely forceful during the holidays... too many people invaded my personal bubble for sure. But anyways, I have to say it was nice just spending the day chilling with my sister. We don't get along that well very often, but it was a nice refresher.

Sunday of course is my blah day. Nothing exciting happened today. I have lots of work to do to prep for the UWM events happening this week. I hope and pray it all turns out well, or else I'll be getting an ear full. But instead of doing work, I'm about to go watch The Invention of Lying with my favies Jaime Ta!

(edit)
The Invention of Lying was a SUPER GOOD MOVIE! pretty hilarious. I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Closer to the Finish Line

Ok so last night was a rough night for me. I was super tired, had to study, and then something happened which made me wanna cuss someone out. However, thank goodness I had the rest of the night to cool off and think rationally. So today, I handled my business and all went well! I believe people deserve second chances... but I DO NOT GIVE OUT THIRDS. Forgive... but don't forget.

Anyways on another note, I just finished taking my Econ 13 midterm. It wasn't TOO bad.. but I really want at least an A- in this class!!!! I can't be a Bus Econ major and not ace econ 13! That would be a sad day for me if I had to settle for a B. But then again... it would be my fault for not taking the class more seriously to study harder. I dunno, oh well I'm just gonna pray for some good results!

But the main reason for this blog is... I AM HAPPY AND PROUD TO SAY THAT MY APPLICATION FOR JET IS OFFICIALLY COMPLETED. All I need to do now is wake up super early tomorrow and Fedex the big packet over to Washington D.C. I'm glad that I decided to apply, for some reason it just feels like a right decision. And also it's nice to have the support of my mom behind me. I hope I make it to the interview round though, or else I'd be pretty disappointed. But we shall see in February... I will make sure to give my envelope a kiss for goodluck before sending it though!

Now I just have one LONG night and day tomorrow to get through before I can kick back and enjoy a nice drink and dinner with some good friends. (: WISH ME LUCK ON THIS RESEARCH PAPER.

OHEMGEE.

I seriously am SO STRUNG OUT right now. I have too many things on my plate to get done within the next week and a half. I'm most likely looking at a sleepless night tonight. Thank goodness I made myself go to Target to run some errands and I was smart to buy some Mocha Coffee Rockstar <3. My new go to drink to get me through the night.

Just to write down my train of thought, things to get done:
1. e-mail SSARC staff about USC event tomorrow
2. create sign up sheets for the Alliant and UWM events
3. send James an e-mail
4. e-mail students a reminder about the USC event tomorrow
5. JET application (this shit is seriously costing me a lot of money and time to put together. I had to pay $26 just to get an official transcript and a dinky proof of enrollment letter that I seriously could've just written myself! not to mention what I'll be paying to fed ex this packet over to the embassy in D.C.)
6. STUDY FOR ECON 13 MIDTERM ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!
7. RESEARCH PAPER DUE THURSDAY!!!!!!

fuck. looking at that list now makes me want to kill myself. but this is the price I pay for getting so involved. it just gets hard sometimes to think about the bigger picture and the benefits for all my hard work and sacrifices. I can feel myself slowly turning into a workaholic each and everyday... all I have to say is this damn well better PAY OFF IN THE END.

I need to keep my eyes on the prize: THURSDAY NIGHT DINNER & HAPPY HOUR WITH ELLA AND MIDNIGHT SHOWING OF TWILIGHT!

oh yes and p.s. i found out that i was on the dean's honors list last winter quarter. i can't believe i found out A YEAR LATER. thanks school. i could've had this shit on my resume this whole time! =/

ok time to get back to work.

OH NOOOO!!!

Currently listening to:

Johnny - Melanie Fiona

I reached the 40 hours listening limit on Pandora today!!!!!!!!! I'm genuinely really sad. What am I supposed to do for some good study music?! I'll probably have to use imeem now but I don't like the suggested music they play. AH! SADNESSSSSSSS!!!!

Day 2.

Day 2 of my blog! As I write this... I'm watching Keeping up with the Kardashians: The Wedding! yessss.
Currently running on 5 hours of sleep right now. My dad told me to go home today by 9am so he could take my car to get the brakes changed. SUCKS getting little sleep on a Saturday. I'd sleep more but I have SO MUCH SHIT to get done! Which means... PEOPLE STAY OUT OF MY WAY OR ELSE I'M GOING TO BITE YOUR HEAD OFF.

It feels like nothing is going right and everyone around me can't function on their own. I hate having to micromanage everything. I'm getting phone calls and text messages non stop... pretty annoying. Speaking of text messages... just got one from a close friend at a conference in SD and she just ran into my ex. Greeeaaaat. This seriously has been the WEIRDEST and most uncomfortable week thus far. I'm gonna call it the "Week of my EXs" and blame it on Friday the Thirteenth. I just don't even know what to say anymore.

So with that, I'm gonna proceed to drinking my Chai Tea Latte, finish watching Keeping up with the Kardashians, get my laundry, and get crackin at finishing all of my homework.

[edit]
So after some progress on my homework and to do list for the weekend... I'm taking a break and decided to blog again! (:
Most people may not know this about me, but I do keep a journal and a private online blog that I write in whenever I get emotional, frustrated, or if I'm having a bad/great day. And after looking over some things I wrote down awhile ago.. I found a bucket list that I made with everything I want to do during my lifetime. And now looking back at it... I'm pretty amazed that I'm actually getting to check things off my list.

Here's a brief preview of what I have on my life's to-do list:
1. Graduate from a good law school.
2. Pass the bar exam before I'm 30.
3. Study abroad.
4. Go to Japan.
5. Travel up and down Italy. -- half check for going to Rome two summers ago.
6. Go to Greece.
7. Go to Spain.
8. Go to Portugal.
9. Go to Ireland.
10. Go to Amsterdam.
11. Go to Cabo.
12. Go to Hawaii.
13. Go to New York in the winter.
14. Ice skate at Rockefeller Center.
15. Go to Australia.
16. Go to New Zealand.
17. Visit family in Vietnam.
18. Be on TV. -- CHECK! Interviewed by Channel 5 last year when a girl was sexually harassed in a parking lot near campus. Not sure if I was ever even shown on tv, but close enough!
19. Have an article written about me. -- CHECK! SSARC Staff Spotlight article (:
20. Go to the 2012 Olympics in London.
21. See Michael Phelps swim or compete.

22. Graduate from college. -- IN PROGRESS! :D

I have more goals than this... but I thought it was best to leave out the more personal ones ;) But rereading my list makes me excited to start working on checking off more goals. I can't wait to start traveling again!

Yay! First Blog!

I wish I thought of this sooner, but I've decided to start a new project for myself... I'm going to start blogging in this thing for the duration of my senior year in college. Too bad I couldn't start this at the very beginning of the school year, but better late than never! So from this point on... I'll try to update this as much as possible.

Since it's 1am, I'll just quickly jot down my thoughts:
- it SUPER SUCKS being sick for the third time within the past 30 days.
- it's a Friday night and I can't believe I stayed in to do homework... although I barely got anything done, so it's pretty upsetting how unproductive I was.
- I've had my full of genocide research for now. Hopefully I can get some really good progress made on my paper tomorrow.
- I'm trying to keep my stress level down to a minimum but it's so hard with this upcoming week!! Things coming up next week: USC School of Social Work event on Tuesday which I still need to find a room for and contact the representative and get more kids signed up for the event!, register for Winter courses on Tuesday, Econ 13 midterm on Wednesday, research paper due Thursday, Econ 122a problem set due Thursday, doctor's appointment back in LB Wednesday morning (which means I'll go to class, drive home, and haul ass to drive back to school in time to take my midterm at 7pm), need to mail out my JET application and make sure it gets to the embassy on time, TWILIGHT PREMIERE THURSDAY NIGHT/FRIDAY MORNING!
- Boys suck and I'm tired of all the bullshit.
- I'm pretty blessed for all the great people in my life. LOVE YOU ALL!!
- Hooray for my first official PUBLIC blog!
- I'm excited to be able to recap on the Sundial Thanksgiving in this blog! haha
